About the Mission

The nuclear treaty verification community uses infrasound stations as an additional tool, besides seismic, hydroacoustic, and radionuclide stations, to monitor and verify effectively if a nuclear explosion occurred.

Project Objective

Kinemetrics supplies high-resolution digitizers and engineering services to achieve the monitoring mission. That includes transmitting data in an authorized and untampered matter.

Project Achievement

Kinemetrics delivered more than 90 Q330M+ high-resolution integrated monitoring systems, which are installed on all continents (except in Antarctica). The Q330M+ supports the community’s CD1.1 protocol. It features an integrated authentication and encryption device, a built-in tamper switch, and input for site-intrusion sensors.

Project Insights

QUALITY INSTRUMENTATION

The Q330M+ is purpose-designed for the monitoring community building on Quanterra’s extensive experience in reliable dataloggers design.

DATA INTEGRITY

The data integrity is supported by a built-in authentication device and internal and external intrusion sensors. Their status is recorded in the CD1.1 frames.

ENGINEERING SERVICE

The engineering services include factory acceptance tests, training, installation support, and unique system designs like power sources and load shedding.

MISSION SUPPORT

Support of the monitoring community in maintaining mission operations during updates and installation services.
