CalTech is in the final stages of densifying the seismic network on which the Southern California Earthquake Early Warning System is based, in particularly along the San Andreas Fault, to decrease the system’s “shadow zone” . This network consists entirely of Kinemetrics seismometers, accelerometers and dataloggers and is meant to protect the 6th economy of the world.
