Creating Resilience
We are thrilled to announce that the California Geological Survey (CGS) has awarded Kinemetrics $25MM in contracts as part of the California Strong Motion Instrumentation Program (CSMIP). These contracts include Kinemetrics hardware and services to update and upgrade many (947) of the more than 1,600 strong motion recorders, which includes over 900 ground response, 260 buildings, 128 lifelines (bridges, dams, wharves, tunnels, etc.), and 42 Geotechnical Arrays across the state. Services will also be provided for 72 critical buildings throughout the state.
“We at Kinemetrics are encouraged to see California’s continued support of CSMIP’s mission and are excited to work in partnership to deliver this critical infrastructure designed to mitigate the risk of earthquakes and create a resilient state,” Kinemetrics President and CEO Mauricio Ciudad-Real said.
The proven experience offered by Kinemetrics through more than 50 years delivering Seismic Monitoring solutions, along with the proven quality of Kinemetrics products and services were key factors in the selection process.
